The truth is that without it, you are practically \u201cblind\u201d under the snow. In this article, we will look at what it is exactly and why it can be the difference between life and death in a critical situation.<\/p>\n

The statistics are ruthless: after 15 minutes under the snow, the chances of survival drop dramatically. Without avalanche probe<\/strong>, the weather<\/a> for precise fixation of the body increases many times, making rescue almost impossible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

What is an avalanche probe?<\/h2>\n

Physically, it is a collapsible pole that resembles the poles of a tent, but is designed to withstand serious loads. A quality avalanche probe<\/strong> consists of several segments connected by a steel rope or strong Kevlar cord.<\/p>\n

Its main function is \u201cPinpointing.\u201d The avalanche transceiver will guide you to an area of 2-3 square meters, but only the probe can tell you exactly where to stick the shovel.<\/p>\n
