Logistically, the most convenient starting point is Bezbog hut.

Stage 1: The beginning and the first gendarme

Once you reach Polezhan Peak, look northwest. You will see how the ridge narrows and begins to descend steeply. The first part is a steep descent on loose terrain from the side of the Gazeian Circus to go around the first large rock tower (Golyam Strazh).

Stage 2: The Real Edge

After going around the first gendarme, the route takes you back to the ridge itself. This is where the real fun begins. You move along the very edge of the razor. Walking often turns into crawling on all fours or “riding” the edge. There is no room for error here.

Stage 3: The finale to Gazei

After overcoming a series of smaller gendarmes, the ridge begins to gradually widen. The final part is a climb to Gazei Peak itself.

Location and Map

Since Strazhite is a rocky ridge, not a single point, the best reference point is the line between Polezhan and Gazey peaks in Northern Pirin.
