A few days ago in the popular English-language Facebook group Bansko Notice Board<\/strong> A heated debate erupted, which in a matter of hours gathered over 40 comments and dozens of reactions. The reason? One of the most pressing issues during the peak ski season \u2013 access to the slopes, uncleaned roads and the notorious gondola queues in Bansko<\/a><\/strong>. The discussion quickly turned into an open clash between disappointed tourists and experienced skiers who know the mountain like the back of their hand.<\/p>\n
Why this is important:<\/strong> February is traditionally the busiest month in the resort, especially during the school holidays in the UK (the so-called. half term<\/em>) and Bulgaria. Knowing the alternative routes and rules is key to your successful vacation.<\/div>\n

The complaint: \u201cSnow trap and chaos on the cable car\u201d<\/h2>\n

The author of the original post, Allan O'Loughlin<\/strong>, shared his strong disappointment with the infrastructure and maintenance. After the previous day he had faced the \u201cnightmare\u201d of the long Gondola queues in Bansko<\/strong> Together with his two young children, he decides to avoid the wait and drive to the slopes in his personal car.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t expect the road to be nearly impassable on the way back around 1:00 PM. Maybe it was my mistake to expect the roads to a ski resort to be sanded or salted. This is just one of the many reasons why this will be our first and last visit to Bansko. I\u2019ve skied all over Europe and here I had more problems in a few days than in the last decade.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Although he is grateful to three young men who pushed his car up the first steep incline, Allan describes the situation with the lifts and buses as \u201ccomplete chaos\u201d with no order in the waiting area. According to him, standing in the cold with children for a long time is absolutely unacceptable.<\/p>\n

Counterarguments: Lack of experience or real problems?<\/h2>\n

The community's reactions were not long in coming. While some users like Cheryl Stubbs<\/strong> supported Allan, stating that it was \u201cunacceptable for people to wait in the cold for over 30 minutes\u201d and that the resort should provide \u201can army of buses,\u201d the majority of commenters took a completely opposite position.<\/p>\n
