Every year, thousands of tourists and climbers choose the rugged climbing in Pirin above Bansko to test their spirit and body. Climbing Vihren Peak in winter, crossing the edge of Strazhite or the narrow marble spine of The horse<\/a> are among the most exciting, but also the most dangerous challenges in Bulgaria. The Alpine beauty of the mountain, however, hides risks that we often underestimate in the euphoria of adventure. When we go up, we are usually with friends. Driven by enthusiasm and love for heights, we rarely think about an extremely uncomfortable question: If something goes wrong during the climb and someone gets hurt, who is responsible for safety in Pirin?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Although Thomas was an amateur, an Austrian court found him guilty of manslaughter. The reason? As a much more experienced climber, he effectively took on the role of informal leader<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
