2. The Golden Middle: Velingrad \u2013 Yakoruda<\/h3>\n

This section takes between 1.5 and 2 hours and passes through the very heart of the mountain. Here the views are the most picturesque - the train winds through deep gorges and passes through most of the 35 tunnels on the line. It is on this section that Avramovo station is located - the highest railway station on the Balkan Peninsula (1267 m above sea level).<\/p>\n
