Festive procession on Todorovden

Bansko will once again solemnly celebrate Todorovden – one of the most beloved spring holidays, also known as Horse Easter. This year it falls on February 28, six weeks before Easter.

Traditionally, with the support of the Municipality of Bansko and the Nikola Vaptsarov Community Center, horse owners organize festive rituals, a procession and fun. All who wish are invited to join the celebrations and feel the magic of this special day.
– 11:00 a.m. – Official start with a ceremonial water blessing on Tsar Simeon Street next to the city stadium.
– Procession: After the blessing of the water, the festive procession will pass along Tsar Simeon, Bulgaria, Todor Kableshkov, Naiden Gerov and Ikonom Chuchulain streets, cross the roundabout and end at Nikola Vaptsarov Square.
– 12:00 p.m. – Ritual feeding of the horses and great folk revelry.
