„"The Drunken Egg" is a small, independent brunch restaurant located in the heart of Bansko. The concept of the establishment is built around the love of eggs, peaceful mornings and food that is prepared with attention to detail, but without unnecessary pretentiousness. The idea for this unique place is the fruit of the imagination of Desi - the founder of the restaurant.
After spending some time as a visitor and later as a resident of Bansko, she felt that something was missing from the city’s otherwise vibrant culinary scene. Although Bansko offers a wealth of great places to eat, until now there had been a lack of a dedicated brunch restaurant that also offered high-quality brunch cocktails. Thus, The Drunken Egg was born.
Location and access 📍
The restaurant is located at 63 Pirin Street in Bansko. The town is well known as the largest and best ski and snowboard resort in the country, which also offers a rich summer program of activities. The restaurant operates year-round and is located on the busiest street in the town.
🧭 Practical navigation tips:
- From the mountain: Starting from the starting station of the cable car (gondola), visitors should keep to the right and walk down. They pass by the restaurants "Ginger" and "Pirin 75". After about 150 meters, "Pirin" street makes a right turn - right at this turn is "The Drunken Egg".
- From the center: Starting from the central square, walk up the slope for about 600 meters, and the restaurant will be on the left side of the street. The exact location can also be found on Google Maps.
Number of places and infrastructure 🪑
The establishment is extremely neat and has a very small facade, which makes it a cute and cozy space. To notice it, guests have to look high up on the wall, where the sign with the logo of "The Drunken Egg" is placed.
⚠️ Important accommodation rule: Due to the compact size of the venue, the restaurant does not offer the option of advance reservations. Visitors are welcome to order directly at any time between 09:00 and 15:00.
Amenities and social responsibility 🐕
In addition to the standard amenities of a restaurant, The Drunken Egg stands out for its strong social commitment to the local community. The founder is an active volunteer at Bansko Street Dogs (BSD), a local non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers. Their goal is to neuter street dogs (as well as help local residents„ pet dogs in need), as well as care for sick and needy animals.
The ultimate goals of the organization are animal health, neutering, and adoption. Since mid-2023, Desi has been a regular volunteer there, continuing to dedicate one day a week (on her day off) to the cause, and also donating a percentage of the establishment's profits.

- Every Saturday, the BSD store opens, offering a variety of second-hand goods, with all proceeds going directly to the care of the dogs.

Everything on the menu is designed and prepared on site in the restaurant's kitchen, with a strong focus on quality ingredients and seasonal ideas. The menu includes a variety of egg-based dishes as well as lighter offerings.
When asked if there are vegetarian or vegan options, the answer is absolutely yes – the entire menu is 100% vegetarian, with some delicious vegan alternatives. Each brunch dish and cocktail is carefully crafted by Desi to complement the taste journey – from the rich egg dishes to the bright and refreshing finales.
