Complete Camping Guide in the Bansko Area: From Luxury Camper Stops to Alpine Seclusion (Season 2025–2026)

A modern campsite for campers and tents at the foot of the Pirin Mountain near Bansko.

The region of Bansko, Razlog and Dobrinishte has long earned its reputation as the „winter capital of the Balkans“, but in recent years it has undergone a real transformation. From a traditional ski resort, the area is becoming the most dynamic point for camping tourism in Bulgaria. Whether you are a digital nomad with a modern camper, a family with a tent or a mountain biker, you will find conditions here that rival Alpine destinations.

Camping "Between the Mountains": The New Era in Bansko

The most anticipated event of the season is the opening of the modern campsite „"Between the Mountains"“ on December 14, 2025. Its location is strategic - it is located at the top of the Bansko, on the very border with Pirin National Park and just a 5-minute walk from the starting station of the gondola lift. This makes it the perfect "ski camping" in the winter and an ideal starting point for mountain hikes in the summer.

Facilities and infrastructure

The complex is designed for year-round use. It has 31 specialized sites for campers and caravans, as well as an area for 20 tents. The infrastructure includes:

  • Technical support: Each site has its own electricity and water supply. A modern service station for draining wastewater has been built.
  • Social areas: A cozy restaurant with a professional chef (local and European specialties), a chapel, a children's playground and a football field.
  • For digital nomads: Laundry room with washers and dryers, as well as high-speed Wi-Fi for remote work.
