While temperatures in the plains and big cities soar to 40 degrees, Bansko wakes up with fresh mornings and offers a pleasant 25-28 degrees during the day. This is the season when the mountain and the city join hands.
In the summer, the city breathes more calmly, but it is far from boring. The streets are full of people who prefer active holidays to lying on the beach. Here you will meet hikers with backpacks, cyclists covered in dust after a descent, and digital nomads with laptops in cafes.
Evenings in Bansko are a trademark of summer. The central square comes alive with concerts and events, and the summer gardens of traditional taverns smell of barbecue and fresh herbs. The air is so clean and cool that a light jacket for dinner is a must.
Heart of Summer: The International Jazz Festival
In August, Bansko becomes the jazz capital of the Balkans. Bansko Jazz Festival is the biggest summer music event in Bulgaria. For more than a week, the central Nikola Vaptsarov Square becomes a huge open-air stage.
The concerts are completely free for the public. Visitors fill the square, many of them sit directly on the grass or on the benches with a glass of wine in hand. The atmosphere is extremely bohemian and positive.

💡 Tip: Always wear a light jacket or sweater when going out for dinner. Temperatures often drop to 13-15 degrees in the evening, which also guarantees a perfect, deep sleep.

Even at the pool in Banya, the sun is mountain and burns much faster than at the sea. Use a high factor.
Rental
You don't need to bring your own bike. Bansko has excellent rental centers for mountain bikes and city bikes for touring.

There are several public fountains around the city with crystal clear, cold mountain water. You can safely fill your bottles from them.
Parking is easy.
Unlike winter, in summer (except for the days around the festival) finding a parking space in the city is quick and hassle-free.
