Access is extremely easy. From the town of Razlog, head to the Betolovoto area on an asphalt road. There, you leave your car in a parking lot (or you can take a jeep or shuttle bus to the hut). The educational trail itself starts right next to the Yavorov hut, and its beginning is clearly marked with an information sign.

The hike begins with a smooth, almost imperceptible climb. The trail winds through centuries-old pine and fir forests, dotted with numerous educational panels. Although it is easy, you are in the mountains. Always wear comfortable closed shoes and check the forecast for the weather specifically for Vihren or Kutelo (the closest peaks with an available forecast). The terrain is eroded. Cutting protected species is absolutely PROHIBITED. Be careful around the information signs and markings - they are fragile. There is coverage of most mobile operators in the area.

Can I pick edelweiss on this route?
Although the edelweiss is a symbol of Pirin and is found in the park, it does not grow on this particular trail, as its habitats are in the much higher alpine zones and marble cliffs. Cutting edelweiss is absolutely prohibited throughout Bulgaria!

Is the route suitable for children?
Yes, this is one of the most suitable routes in Pirin for children. Short, easy, educational and fun because of the bear paw markings.

Is there drinking water on the way?
Although you cross several small streams, it is advisable to stock up on clean drinking water from the Yavorov hut before the very beginning of the hike.
