TODORKA VERTICAL

„"Todorka Vertical"“ is an inspiring high-altitude race of the "Vertical Kilometer" type, which takes place in the heart of the Pirin Mountains above the town of Bansko. The main organizer of the sports festival is the local club of champions. „"AlPirinsky"“. The event aims to unite people through sport, endurance and love of nature.

📅 When and where (Edition 2026)

This year's edition is planned for the beginning of July:

• Date: July 4, 2026 (Saturday)

• Start: Banderishka Polyana (area around Banderitsa hut)

• Final: Upper station of the Banderitsa 2 lift„

🏃 Tracks and disciplines

Based on the established format from last year, the race offers routes that are suitable for both elite athletes and young enthusiasts:

• Classic vertical route: Extremely challenging distance from 2.8 km, combined with a serious positive displacement of +931 m (from Banderishka Polyana directly to the upper lift station).

• Children's route: Shorter route than 1 km with displacement +316 m (from Banderishka Polyana to Kolarski Pat), aimed at the development of the youngest mountain runners.

The race is open to all age groups – from children (6-12 years old) to the most experienced veteran mountaineers (61+ years old). The event usually includes special guests from the elite of mountain running and mountaineering (such as record holder Nikola Kalistrin), who set a personal example and inspire the participants.
