Day 5: The majestic nature near Bezbog Hut and Popovoto Lake

The fifth day of your Pirin adventure begins with a drive to Bezbog hut, located at a high altitude of 2240 meters on the shores of the picturesque Bezbog Lake. The most convenient way to reach the hut is by chairlift, which starts from the Gotse Delchev hut and offers incredible views along the way. The lift is open and the trip to Bezbog lasts about 25-40 minutes.

ℹ️ Useful information about the lift: The facility operates normally from 09:00 to 16:00. It is recommended to check the weather forecast and operating hours at the bottom station before departure.

After your arrival at Bezbog hut, it is time to walk to Godless Lake – a beautiful mountain lake with an area of about 19 acres and a depth of 7 meters, surrounded by alpine relief and marble rocks that phosphoresce in the night sky. The area around the lake is typical of Pirin with unique flora and beautiful natural views.

Passage to Popovoto Lake

If you are more prepared for a mountain hike, take the route to one of the most beautiful natural lakes in Pirin – Popovo Lake. It is located at an altitude of 2233 meters and is part of the famous lake group “Popovi Ezera”. With an area of 120 acres and a depth of almost 30 meters, the lake is surrounded by impressive peaks and offers an unforgettable natural atmosphere. The trail from Bezbog hut to Popovoto Ezera is marked and the hike takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
