🚠 Gondola and transportation to the slopes

Where does the Gondola leave from and how long does the trip take?
The starting station of the cable car (Gondola) is located in upper town, close to most major hotels. Traveling to Banderishka meadow (the heart of the ski area) takes about 25–30 minutes and offers wonderful panoramic views of Pirin.
When does the Gondola operate?
Standard business hours are 08:30 – 17:00. During busy periods (last two weeks of February) it may open from 07:30 a.m.
How can I avoid long lines in the morning?
During peak season (especially February) queues can be from 20 minutes to 2–3 hours. Here's how to avoid them:
  • Go to the station before 08:00.
  • Use shuttle bus — offered by some hotels
  • Purchase VIP ski pass for priority in the queue
⚠️ During holiday weeks, queues form around 07:15 a.m.
Is there alternative transportation to the slopes?
Yes — organized shuttle bus "VAIK"„. Tickets around 6 EUR, from the brown hot dog to Happy Ending (see on the map).
⚠️ Use only yellow taxis — private drivers are at your own risk.
Can I drive to the ski area?
Yes, but the road is closed around 08:00 a.m. in the morning. Parking costs 13 EUR/day (07:00–19:00, no discounts).
🚗 Winter tires are recommended. Snow chains are not mandatory.

Is there a VIP/Fast Pass?
Season cards include fast lane access automatically. VIP passes are sold by certain hotels, usually in combination with ski lessons.
