Why are the glacial lakes in Pirin so special?

The legend tells of a priest who threw himself into the lake out of grief for his daughter, who had been kidnapped by the Turks. His carpet floated up and became the small island in the middle of the lake. Access here is most convenient from the Bezbog hut (which can be reached by lift from Dobrinishte), and the hike is relatively easy and extremely panoramic.
