Bansko is surrounded by three mountains, with the Rhodope Mountains in the immediate vicinity lacking classic mountain huts for hiking. However, the mountains offer incredible places for car excursions and weekend getaways.

The Wonderful Bridges Hut

Planning a hike?

The Rhodope Mountains around Bansko are more suitable for excursions by car (e.g. to the villages of Leshten, Kovachevitsa) than for multi-day hut hikes.

For classic overnight stays high in the mountains, we highly recommend Pirin and Rila!
