Finding a convenient place for parking in Bansko can be a challenge, especially during the peak of the winter season, when the town's population multiplies many times over. Traffic management in the resort is strict, and the rules are followed uncompromisingly by the municipal authorities.

1. Paid parking – Blue Zone Bansko

The central part of the city falls within the scope of the “Blue Zone.” The purpose of this regime is to ensure the flow of cars and prevent traffic jams in the narrow streets of the old town and around tourist sites.

Working hours and seasonality

The operating mode depends on the season, with control being most intense in winter:

• Winter season (December 1 – April 15): Zone is active every day (including Saturday and Sunday) usually from 08:00 to 18:00.
• Summer season (April 16 – November 30): The scope and hours can be reduced by order of the mayor, but central streets often remain tolled.

Prices and limits

It is important to know that Bansko imposes a restriction on the weather for stays to stimulate the release of places.

Attention: After the 4th hour, you must move your vehicle out of the zone. Simply sending a new SMS does not guarantee protection from a penalty if inspectors detect a prolonged stay in the same place.
