Title: Map of the ski slopes in Bansko - A guide for beginners and advanced skiers
Before you head to the lift, here's the most important reference point you need to have on hand to plan the perfect day in the mountains.

Map showing 75 km of marked ski runs in the ski area of Bansko, including the lifts, the names of the slopes (such as Todorka, Plateau, Tsarna Mogila), as well as the locations of key facilities such as gondolas, huts, restaurants, ski schools and parking lots. The altitude varies from 990 m (Bansko town) to 2600 m (Todorka peak).
How to read a map: Zones and tips
The Bansko ski area may seem large, but it is actually very logically organized. To avoid getting lost and queuing, here is what you need to know about the main sectors on the map:
1. Blue Zone: The Plateau and Shiligarnika (For relaxation and learning)
If you look at the top of the map, you will see the wide blue runways (numbers 3, 11 and 10).
-
The plateau is the highest and sunniest part. The slopes there are very wide and sloping - perfect for warming up or for people perfecting their turns.
-
The Shiligarnika is the heart of the resort. Most of the lifts leave from there. The blue runs there are nice, but can get busier in the afternoon.
2. Red Zone: For advanced users
The red slopes in Bansko (like No. 4 and No. 9) are excellent for carving, but require good technique.
-
Attention: Track “Balkaniade” is one of the longest and most enjoyable, but there are a few steeper sections that may surprise more inexperienced skiers.
3. Attention: Sector "Chalin Valog"“
If you look at the map below, under Banderishka meadow, you will see the area Chalin Valog. Many beginners make the mistake of going down there with the lift, thinking that since it's low, it's easy.
-
Tip: The slopes there (black and red) are short but very steep and often icy. Avoid them if you are not confident in your skills.
4. Ski Road – Track No. 1
This is the orange line that connects the top of the mountain to the city (7 km long).
-
What to expect: This is the easiest way to get down on skis. The slope is minimal.
-
Pro Tip: After 4:00 PM it gets very busy ("soup" of people). Be careful or take the cable car down if you are tired.
