The city with a different face every month of the year
When the snow melts, Bansko wakes up with lush flowering meadows and fresh mountain air. The season is ideal for hiking trails in Pirin, visiting the Baykusheva mura and strolling through the cobblestone streets of the old town. The local markets come alive with the first vegetables and herbs.
SPRING BANSKO →Summer is the peak of mountain tourism in Bansko. Tourists flock to climb Vihren Peak, swim in Popovo Lake and participate in the Jazz Festival - one of the most significant musical events in Bulgaria. The taverns are open at full speed, and the atmosphere in the center is unique.
SUMMER BANSKO →Autumn paints Pirin in rich shades of gold, ochre and dark red. Fewer tourists means more peace and better prices. The season is a favorite of photographers and lovers of silence. The hot Bansko dishes — kapama, chomlek and banitsa — taste best on cool autumn evenings.
AUTUMN BANSKO →Winter is the "calling card" of Bansko - a world-famous ski resort with over 75 km of slopes, modern lifts and après-ski culture. The old town under the snow is like a picture - altars and pilgrim houses, lit by lanterns. The ski season traditionally opens with a carnival and lasts from December to March.
