Look for instructors with a diploma from the National Ski Federation or an internationally recognized qualification — ISIA, BASI, or SBSA.
During peak season (December–February), good instructors are booked weeks in advance. Contact at least 2 weeks before arrival.
Group lessons are cheaper and more social, but individual lessons allow for much faster progress—perfect for children and beginners.
Most beginners become independent riders after 4–6 2-hour lessons. Young children may need 6–8 lessons.

Rules, signs and behavior
10 minutes of stretching your legs, hips, and lower back reduces the risk of injuries and improves the feel of your skis.
Beginners look at their feet. Look up 20–30 meters ahead — you will improve balance and anticipation.
Bends come from the knees, not the shoulders. Turn the knee in the direction of the bend and the body will follow.
Tired muscles are a major cause of falls. Take a 15-minute break every 1.5–2 hours of riding.
At high altitudes, dehydration can occur quickly and unnoticed. Carry a thermos and drink often.
Knee or ankle pain is not "normal." If something hurts, stop. Continuing can make the injury worse.
