Razlog and Bansko Municipality: Administrative services for foreigners

1. Bansko Municipality: What is paid and decided here?

If your address or property is located within the borders of the town of Bansko or the village of Dobrinishte, you are a resident of Bansko Municipality. The municipal administration building is located in the ideal center of the city (on Nikola Vaptsarov Square).

Main services in Bansko Municipality for expats:

A. Notary Services and Real Estate Transactions

The area of operation of notaries is tied to the District Court. Since the District Court for the entire region is located in Razlog, all notaries who are entitled to perform transactions for the purchase and sale of properties in Bansko have offices in Razlog. To buy or sell a property in Bansko, the transaction mandatory is signed in Razlog.

B. Property Register (Registration Agency)

C. Healthcare (MHA Razlog)

Although Bansko has an excellent Medical Center and many private practices, the main multi-profile hospital for active treatment (MBAL), which has an Emergency Department, a maternity ward, and surgery for the entire region, is located in the town of Razlog.

D. Vehicle registration (partially)

Although the full registration of a car is done in the regional center of Blagoevgrad, some administrative services of the Traffic Police are carried out in the Regional Office in Razlog, which is the larger structure than the one in Bansko.

3. Razlog Municipality: When does it directly concern you?

Apart from being the home of regional institutions, Razlog Municipality is an independent administrative unit that manages its own territories. You will be a direct client of Razlog Municipality (for paying taxes, construction documents, etc.) only if you purchase a property or live in the following settlements:

• Himself city of Razlog (very popular among expats looking for a more relaxed, non-resort lifestyle).
• Village of Banya (known for its mineral springs).
• Village of Bachevo (popular for horseback riding and cottage tourism).
• Complexes in the area Catarino or Pirin Golf (which territorially belong to the Razlog municipality, although they are on the border with Bansko).
